How To Dress For Fall When It Feels Like Summer
Happy Tuesday!
While it’s starting to cool down in many places, it’s still pretty hot here in Florida and a few other states. If you’re living in one of those hotter states like me, it almost feels like it’s impossible to dress for fall…until now! Today’s blog post is about how you can dress for fall when it still feels like summer.
There’s no rule that says you have to wear sweaters and over the knee boots as soon as it’s officially fall. Now, even though I do LOVE both of those pieces of clothing, it’s not realistic down south for many, many months.
My solution for wearing fall clothing in warmer states starts with the right color palette. I love all of the darker tones that fall brings. Colors like: maroon, olive, navy blue, burnt orange, red, and mustard. As soon as I saw this Through The Motions Rust Print Maxi Dress from Red Dress Boutique I knew this would be one of my favorite fall outfits. In addition to the darker color tones, beautiful patterns like florals and stripes are also fall favorites. This off the shoulder smocked maxi dress features a leaf pattern and a slight high low hem. To complete this look, I paired my favorite tan peep toe booties to make that summer switch from sandals to boots without all of the sweat that would come from tall boots!
This dress is super comfy and is perfect for those warmer days and (hopefully) cooler nights. I am wearing a size medium and would say that it fits pretty true to size. The bottom is open and comfy (be careful when twirling because it fits like a wrap dress).
