Happy Tuesday!
How was everyone’s long weekend?! I love how we’re starting to get into holiday season. It’s like once July 4th gets here, it’s one holiday after the other which is great! Even though I love Florida summers, we’re finally getting into my favorite time of year: fall! Now, with fall being right around the corner, that means there’s a ton of events coming up which can make eating healthy hard. Whether it’s eating unhealthy food at parties or being so busy that quick unhealthy options are easier, it can be a challenge during the upcoming months.
Because of this, I wanted to start sharing some of my favorite healthy snacks that I like to keep on hand. Today’s post features two of my favorites:
1. The Better Chip Spinach And Kale Chips + Yucatan Mild Guacamole
First, these chips are great! The reason why I started buying them is because I kept trying to make kale chips in the oven (from the Tone It Up meal plan), but I didn’t like that they looked crispy on the outside and then got all squishy once I ate them. I was hoping for something crunchy to make the fact that I was eating kale a little better but it didn’t work. Once I discovered these chips at Whole Foods I was hooked.
These chips are gluten free, non-GMO and vegan. They also contain only a few simple ingredients which is another reason why I love them. If you’re looking at something on the ingredients list and are trying to pronounce a word that sounds like it belongs in a science experiment then you probably shouldn’t be eating it.
The ingredients in the chips are: whole grain corn masa flour, sunflower, safflower and/or canola oil, spinach, kale, and sea salt.
To complete this snack, I got my favorite go-to guacamole brand (
Yucatan). Publix usually has these BOGO from time to time which is when I usually get them. This guacamole is the perfect texture and it has the best taste. This
guac also has a few ingredients on the list too: h
ass avocado, salt, sugar, onion, garlic powder, ascorbic acid (to preserve freshness), citric acid (to preserve freshness), and xanthan gum.
I have seen these chips at Whole Foods and Publix and have seen the Guacamole at Publix and a larger size portion at Sam’s Club! However if you search either of these two products you will be able to find all of the possible locations that they are available.
2. Crunch Master Multi-Grain or Multi-Seed Crackers with Sabra Classic Hummus
Over the past few years, I’ve developed a love for hummus. It goes with so many things and is great for a party platter! A few months ago I tried a few different flavors of Crunch Master’s crackers and loved every single one. I usually stick with the sea salt flavors because their mild flavor pairs best with the hummus (to me). These crackers are gluten free, non-GMO, have no artificial colors or flavors and are absolutely delicious!
In addition to the first snack, these crackers have just a few simple ingredients: brown rice flour, whole grain yellow corn, potato starch, safflower oil, oat fiber, cane sugar, sesame seeds, flax seeds, millet, sea salt, quinoa seeds.
These crackers have also been a hit at work before too! I’ve shared them with a few coworkers and they all loved them. If you’re looking for another great snack to bring to work or an event, this combo is the perfect duo!
I have seen these crackers at Publix and you can find Sabra hummus pretty much everywhere! Also – if you head over to Sabra Hummus’ website, they actually have a ton of recipe ideas that you might love too!
