Spring Get Active Challenge: Beach Yoga

Happy Monday!

I am excited to announce that this week I am launching two new series! The first one that launches today is my spring/summer get active challenge series. As a way to motivate myself (and hopefully others too) I wanted to launch a series that shows many fun ways you can get active outside and have fun. So today, grab a friend, a water bottle and your yoga mat and let’s head to the beach for today’s get active challenge!

The first challenge of my new series is to enjoy yoga on the beach! Now, please know that you don’t need to be perfect at yoga or need a yoga instructor to enjoy this relaxing yet challenging outdoor activity.
What you’ll need:
  • Water bottle (must stay hydrated!)
  • Yoga mat
  • Yoga blocks (optional)
  • Your best friend (more fun #amiriteeee)

When I want to do yoga at home or on the go, I like to go on YouTube to find some new videos. There are hundreds of thousands of yoga videos on YouTube that don’t require any sort of payment. You can easily prop up your phone (possibly in a good case so that all the sand doesn’t get in) and enjoy a nice session on the beach!

Tone It Up, Popsugar Fitness, and more all have good yoga videos. There are so many instructors out there, it’s hard not to find a good one. Plus, you can always head over to Instagram and search hashtags like #yogavideo #yogainstructor or #yogaworkout to find instructor accounts and videos that you can watch and learn from!
Here is one of my favorite yoga flows from Tone It Up: Beautiful 15-Minute Power Yoga Flow with Emily!
And of course, don’t forget to celebrate what you have accomplished from enjoying the nice day! Maybe bring some food and have a nice brunch on the beach with your friend afterwards, or even hit up your favorite local spot for coffee. No matter where you go, just remember to have fun!
Just for fun – here’s a little blooper from the shoot. I am NOT flexible at all haha and so this is my friend Paige trying to help me into a pose. Maybe one day I’ll be able to get my foot up higher than my knee ha!
