Best Dog Bed Ramp: DoggoRamps Large Dog Bed Ramp
Over the years I have done many dog product reviews, but this one in particular means something special to me. Most likely when you discover this post, my big brindle boy Diesel will have undergone TPLO surgery on his cruciate ligament in his knee. This surgery takes quite a bit of recovery and while I’ve been wanting a dog bed ramp for quite some time, once I knew he needed this surgery, I knew that I had to step up my game to find one that would help him before and after surgery. After some searching, I am confident that I’ve found the BEST one!

About DoggoRamps
When I first discovered DoggoRamps, I saw that they posted a lot of content about small/long-bodied dog breeds like Dachshunds or Basset Hounds in addition to big dogs using their ramps. When I went to learn more about them on their website, I discovered that the founder, Ryan, had originally created the small dog bed ramp after his Dachshund Crusoe had to have emergency surgery for a blown disc in his back.
Since then, DoggoRamps has created even more amazing ramps including the Large Dog Bed Ramp featured in today’s post, as well as their Dog Couch Ramp and Dog Step Ramp.

DoggoRamps Large Dog Bed Ramp Features:
Out of all of the dog bed ramps that I saw, including name brands like PetSafe, to me, none of them compared to DoggoRamps. The amount of special features that I saw added to theirs compared to the rest made it the easiest decision to choose DoggoRamps’ products.
Now, before I get into all of the amazing features of this dog bed ramp, I do want to let you all know that they are not cheap! I always like to be fully transparent with everything that I share on here, and even though they are more expensive than some others, I do think they are 100% worth every penny.
Safety Rails
The first feature of the DoggoRamps Large Dog Bed Ramp that caught my eye the most were the removable/reversible safety rails for both the side and top of the large dog bed ramp. I had never seen a dog bed ramp with that added feature and I personally thought that was incredibly helpful.
The safety rails are the only part that you have to assemble when you receive your large dog bed ramp in the mail. Everything else is already assembled! The package comes with the few items you need to assemble the safety rails and it only takes a few minutes.

Anti-Slip High Traction Surface & Wide Platform
The next two features of the DoggoRamps Large Dog Bed Ramp that I really loved are the wide platform and the anti-slip high traction surface. The platform width is 18″ which is extremely helpful in supporting bigger dogs and long-bodied breeds like Basset Hounds who need more room to move around. I don’t think I had found a wide dog ramp this big.
The anti-slip surface texture is one that I hadn’t seen before and I really liked it. I have an SUV dog ramp that I specifically got for Diesel as well and one thing I mentioned in my YouTube video about the Extra Long Dog Ramp For Large Dogs is that while I liked the high-traction surface on it, I was open to trying dog ramps with different surfaces because I definitely thought there might be a better option out there. The anti-slip surface texture on the DoggoRamps dog bed ramp almost feels like a yoga mat but more durable for dog nails.
Diesel has always had longer nails because he hates nail trims and we take him to the vet to get his done every couple weeks. Even with his slightly longer nails, the surface on this ramp still looks brand new after weeks of using it! On my SUV dog ramp, the surface really gets scratched up quickly. While it still works well, I would definitely pick the DoggoRamps anti-slip surface for any kind of ramp any day!
High Weight Limit & Adjustable Base
The next two features of DoggoRamp’s Large Dog Bed Ramp are the high weight limit and the adjustable base. This indoor dog ramp for your bed can hold dogs up to 200 pounds! For reference, Diesel is 109 pounds (he got weighed last week at his annual appointment) and we think Diesel is a mastiff/staffy/hound mix.
This dog ramp is also extremely adjustable! The bottom base allows you to adjust the height to reach beds as high as 20″ to 35″ and it flattens down to 4.5″ for easy storage. This was also a huge factor for me because I have always had a tall bed. I’ve always loved to put storage containers underneath and a few other dog bed ramps that I found didn’t meet the height requirements I was looking for.
Pro Tip: In addition to measuring the height of your bed so you know if it will adjust easily to your bed height, I also highly recommend looking at the length dimensions of the ramp so you know how it will fit next to your bed and in your bedroom in general. The DoggoRamps Large Dog Bed Ramp measures 64″ long by 20″ wide. We keep ours at the end of our bed for easy access for both Diesel and Chandler and I!
Teaching Your Dog To Use A Dog Bed Ramp
If your dog has never used a dog ramp before, there could be a learning curve, but not necessarily! Diesel in particular has always been a super brave boy and nothing phases him (you can see his excitement in the photos below, ha!). When I first set up my SUV dog ramp, he ran right up it and looked at me like, “Look mommy I did it!”. He was so proud of himself, ha!
When teaching your dog to use an indoor dog bed ramp for the first time, it’s super important to set your dog up for success from the beginning! DoggoRamps actually has super helpful training videos on their website for their Large Dog Bed Ramp and their Couch Ramp and Small Bed Ramp!
