Over the years I’ve searched for, tried and reviewed a ton of ramps for dogs. I’ve found and reviewed the best dog bed ramp, the DoggoRamps Large Dog Bed Ramp (they also have a small dog version and I have a 15% off discount code in that post!) and I’ve reviewed multiple dog car ramps like my current favorite, the WeatherTech Lightweight Folding Dog Ramp: Dog Ramps For Large Dogs and the PetSafe Telescoping Dog Ramp.

Something I hadn’t reviewed yet, was the best dog ramp for a couch or sofa…until now! It’s no secret that DoggoRamps is my favorite for wide, indoor dog ramps. Out of all of the many options out there, no other indoor dog ramps match their quality, and the owner and staff of the company are the most wonderful people! Like all of DoggoRamp’s ramps for dogs, their dog sofa ramp has a lot of great features:

• Adjustable Height
  • This dog couch ramp can fold completely flat to 3″ (great for storage!) and adjust up to 21″. On the bottom of the ramp is where you’ll find the different placements to adjust the height for a 14″, 17″ 19″ or 21″ height. This gives you a ton of options for your home.
• High Weight Limit
  • I think most will see this ramp and think it’s only a small dog ramp. Quite the contrary actually! The DoggoRamps dog couch ramp can hold dogs up to 150 pounds! I’ve tested this ramp with both of my dogs (Annie who is 67 pounds and Diesel who ranges from 100-105 pounds) and had no problems with either! I also just gave this dog couch ramp to my parent’s for their senior dog Aiden because he’s having some mobility issues right now and he hasn’t had any issues either (he’s about 70-75 pounds!).

Pro Tip: No matter what size dog you have that fits the weight limit of this dog sofa ramp, I recommend putting some type of grips on the bottom of the legs to keep it in place on your floor. I tend to see it move on both carpet and tile with the larger dogs, but adding that slight bit of extra security on the ground is all it needs!

• Great Width and Length
  • This dog couch ramp measures 16″ wide and 35″ long. This I really loved because it’s the perfect in between width of both their dog bed ramps (small dog bed ramp is 15″ wide and the large dog bed ramp is 18″ wide).
• Fantastic Grip Surface
  • One of the reasons I chose DoggoRamps for all of my indoor dog ramps is because of their PAWGrip Surface. It’s by far my favorite traction surface and is great for all dogs. Diesel tends to have longer nails at times and with their Large Dog Bed Ramp, I haven’t seen any issues with the traction surface in over two years! 20/10 recommend!
• Optional Safety Rails (Can purchase with or without rails included)
  • On all of DoggoRamps ramps for dogs, they add the option to put safety rails on the side and top of the ramp. The screws and Allen Wrench are included and can be attached in minutes. This is great for many dogs and reasons:
    • Small dogs (like my dog owners looking for a Dachshund ramp) who want that extra barrier to keep them away from the edge)
    • Quick/excited dogs that could benefit from that barrier so that they actually use the ramp correctly and not jump off, removing the entire purpose of the ramp.
    • Added security for all dogs as they get used to using a ramp in general. I adjust the rails as needed/where I will be putting it. For example, my parent’s dog Aiden did better when I took off the side rails and only left the top because of how he likes to get up on the couch. It was the difference between him feeling comfortable vs. uncomfortable using the ramp!
• 5 Wood Finishes
  • Not the most important feature but a cool one, ha! All of DoggoRamps ramps for dogs are made out of a superior quality maple hardwood and you can choose between five different finishings/colors to match your home decor aesthetic. Teaching Your Dog To Use A Couch Ramp

When you get your dog ramp for your couch, you will need to properly teach your how to use it, otherwise they might become afraid and never touch it at all. Now, all dogs are different. Diesel walks up and onto literally anything and everything and I didn’t have to take as many steps with him. Annie on the other hand needs more confidence building. However, once she gets something or feels like something is ok, she’s solid!

When teaching your dog to use an indoor dog sofa ramp for the first time, it’s super important to set your dog up for success from the beginning! DoggoRamps actually has super helpful training videos on their website for their Dog Couch Ramp and their Large and Small Dog Bed Ramps!
