Fellow Living Waterproof Pet Blanket Review
For the past year I have been contemplating getting a waterproof pet blanket for my dogs. Both of my dogs love snuggling up with their dog blankets but I didn’t know much about waterproof blankets for dogs. I had never really had one before, but after doing my research and learning how beneficial they can be to dog owners of all breeds, sizes and ages (especially puppies and senior dogs), I knew I had to have one!
A few months ago, I actually met the founder of today’s feature, Chelsea from Fellow Living. I was so impressed by every detail she had thought of for these waterproof dog blankets that I was so happy I didn’t pick one until I found hers!
In today’s post, I’ll be sharing all about the Fellow Living Waterproof Dog Blankets including their high-quality materials that not all pet waterproof blankets have, how absorbent they really are, and the many ways you can use them – like camping trips with your dogs and other fun dog-friendly adventures!
How Are Fellow Living Waterproof Pet Blankets Made?
One of the biggest reasons why I love the Fellow Living waterproof pet blankets is because of the quality of materials and where these waterproof dog blankets are made. A few months ago, I was actually looking at new mattresses for our home and learned that many mattresses are made with chemicals that aren’t safe for us or our pets to be sleeping on. Ever since then, I’ve really taken a look at the materials that go into these types of products.
The Fellow Living waterproof pet blankets are made from a blend of American-grown organic cotton, lycra spandex fibers and polyurethane – all made without toxic solvents, harmful chemicals or finishes, so your family and dogs can have peace-of-mind while snuggling!
We’ve been using this blanket for quite some time now and I’m truly impressed with how soft it is and how well the water-resistant fabric really works!
The Fellow Living waterproof pet blankets are also made in the US! Fellow Living’s incredible fabric comes from the East Coast and then the blankets are assembled in LA, California! If you’re new to following me, I’m a huge advocate for made in America pet brands. I’ve actually featured a few including my Big Barker Orthopedic Dog Bed Review and Plato Pet Treats air dried dog treats review.
P.S. These waterproof dog blankets also fit perfectly over the XL Big Barker 7 Orthopedic Dog Bed!
How Do Waterproof Pet Blankets Work?
These pet waterproof blankets made to absorb any accidents that your pet may have while on the couch, bed, or their other favorite place to relax.
As soon as I got these blankets, I immediately wanted to test out how waterproof they actually are. I had the blanket folded in half to be a runner on my full-size bed and I grabbed a glass of water to pour over it. After pouring out almost half a glass of water, the water never leaked through to the other side of the blanket or onto the bed. I was so impressed!
If you’re potty training a puppy, have a senior dog that might have accidents from time to time, or you’re just enjoying a meal on the couch with your dog and a spill happens, these waterproof throw blankets for dogs are by far one of the best waterproof dog blankets out there!
P.S. Unlike many waterproof pet blankets, these are machine washable AND machine dryable! After washing and drying, you’ll still keep the same level of softness!
How Else Can I Use These Waterproof Pet Blankets?
Besides using these as an everyday waterproof dog blanket for your couch or bed, these pet waterproof blankets also make superb dog travel blankets (everyday travel or to events like dock-diving competitions!), waterproof camping blankets and are great for after bath time with your dog. If you have a pup who’s notorious for jumping on the couch or bed after their bath when they’re not completely dry yet (no idea who I’m talking about..*cough cough* Annie *cough cough*), these are great, ha!
When we took our dogs Diesel and Annie on their first camping trip a few months ago, I definitely wish we had one of these at the time! These would be great for inside your camping tent or around your base camp area for your dog to relax on.
**This was honestly one of the biggest lessons learned: have an area for your dog to lay. You know they’re going to get dirty when you make the decision to go camping with your dogs, but if you can prevent some of the dirt or critters from getting on them, you might as well!**
Both Diesel and Annie absolutely love their Fellow Living Waterproof Pet Blankets. The second I put them on the couch, they were immediately laying on them. They said, mom, these are OUR blankets now, thank you. Ha!
We’ll definitely be taking our waterproof dog blankets with us everywhere and I can’t wait to keep using them!
