Nina Ottosson Dog Brick Treat Puzzle

So funny story, before I knew the Nina Ottosson dog puzzles came in different levels, I actually bought the Dog Brick Treat Puzzle first along with the Treat Tumble dog puzzle for Diesel! Once I found out they were level 2 puzzles I felt even more impressed with him! Ha!

The level 2 dog puzzles are the first group to introduce sliding movements. Similar to the Dog Smart dog puzzle, there are white dog bones to cover treat areas that your dog can lift out of the way. In addition to these, there are also red flip lid compartments that can hold treats and also be slid out of the way to reveal more hidden treats!

The first time Diesel did this puzzle, he actually bit off the red lids and I was like oh crap, did he just break this puzzle in less than one minute! Ha! If your pup does this too, don’t worry, they snap right back on.

Nina Ottosson Dog Tornado Treat Puzzle

Next up is the Nina Ottosson Dog Tornado Treat Puzzle! This interactive dog puzzle toy features 12 hidden compartments and three dog bone covers that you can place throughout to increase the difficulty of this dog puzzle. In order to reveal all of the layers of this dog puzzle, your dog must spin the yellow and blue dog bones to find all of the hidden treat compartments!

One way to make this dog treat puzzle last even longer and provide a tasty and refreshing summer treat for your dog is to freeze the items inside of the layers! This makes your dog work longer and they’ll love the delicious reward! Below are a few quick ideas of what you could put in and freeze.

What to put in this dog treat toy:

  • Chicken broth and carrots
  • Coconut water and chopped up watermelon or cucumber
  • Water with chopped strawberries

Nina Ottosson Dog Hide N’ Slide Dog Game

Last is my favorite Nina Ottosson dog puzzle, the Dog Hide N’ Slide Dog Game! This interactive dog puzzle toy challenges your dog to complete sequential steps in order to find the hidden treat reward!

With scent holes on every sliding peg as well as moving flippers, the combinations to hide treats are endless and will give your pup an added challenge each time! I like to push together the peg and the flipper to almost create a “wall” that has to be slid and pushed in order to find the hidden treat.

I was honestly majorly impressed with Annie on this dog puzzle. I need to get a stopwatch and time her next time, but I swear she completed this dog puzzle in 30 seconds! She is one of the smartest dogs I’ve ever had and it’s just amazing to watch her solve this so fast. She’s like mom, I’m ready for the expert dog puzzle, what is this? Ha!
