Summer Outdoor Dog Activities With BigMouth Pets

Growing up, I always spent the summer outdoors with my dogs! My mom and I would go to Walmart and get those round plastic kid pools to set up for the dogs. Plus, for all of my fellow millennial readers, I would get out my Crazy Daisy sprinkler and have the most epic outdoor fun with the pups.

Even though I’ve gotten older, I still love spending the summer outside with my dogs, doing the most fun outdoor dog activities including my two childhood favorites, but with some slight product upgrades. One of my favorite summer brands, BigMouth recently launched a pet line that is filled with the perfect gear for summer outdoor activities for dogs like dog water sprinklers, doggy swimming pools, outdoor dog beds with shade and more!

If you’ve been looking for ways to keep your dogs cool in the summer as well as fun summer activities for your dogs, you’ve come to the right place!

BigMouth Doggy Swimming Pool

I’m so glad that there are way better options for swimming pools for dogs besides that plastic Walmart pool, ha! Even though it worked, after some time it would eventually crack from the harsh summer sun, resulting in us spending more money to get another (because we’re obviously going to spoil our dogs, ha!).

While there’s no such thing as puncture proof dog pools, this doggy swimming pool is a pretty durable dog pool! This dog splash pool is made from PVC material which is extremely helpful for preventing any tears. Sometimes I’m not always the best at keeping my dog’s nails trimmed (honest dog mom moment, ha!), and PVC dog pools, for me personally, have held up really well! This doggy swimming pool also folds up, making storage super easy.

This doggy swimming pool comes in two designs (featured here is the patterns and splashes print), and one size (47″ X 47″ by 11″) that fits many small and large breeds. One extra feature that this dog splash pool has that I haven’t seen any others have is a safety on the drain spout. This is helpful because it won’t start draining until that is fully opened which can come in handy in many instances!

When we shot this, this was my mom’s new Labrador puppy River’s first doggy swimming pool experience, and to say she loved it is an understatement, ha! She is by far your typical water loving Labrador Retriever! At one point we had the elevated dog beds (last product featured in this post) by the doggy swimming pool and she was jumping off of it into the pool! Needless to say, I think dock diving is in her future, ha!

BigMouth Dog Pool Float

This next item from BigMouth’s pet line is one for all of my pet parents who’s dogs love to hang out with them in the pool! They created their own dog pool floats! Out of all the designs available, this fire hydrant design is my favorite.

Pro Tip: For this item and the next, I highly recommend investing in an air pump, if you don’t already have one. Whether you get an electronic one or a classic air pump, you’ll need it to inflate (unless you have lungs of steel, ha!). I got this air pump from Target.

This pet pool float is 52 inches long, has two holes on the side for easy carrying and to let a little water in to keep your dog cool in the pool. I was also quite impressed by the material on this dog pool float. I honestly wasn’t expecting it to be as durable as it was, so that was a very nice surprise.

Another awesome feature about this dog pool float is the inflation areas. To make it easy to inflate and prevent any air loss, the inflation tubes have an extra black part that you plug in first before inserting your pump. This way, when you’re done inflating, and go to close the hole, you don’t have to worry about moving quickly to close it to risk air escaping.

The other two pet pool floats not only come in different designs but also sizes if you’re looking for something smaller, bigger or just a different shape in general. There’s the Pineapple pet pool float that is 56 inches long and the donut pet pool float that is 36 inches.

BigMouth Dog Water Sprinkler

The third item, and my personal favorite, is the dog water sprinkler! If you’re looking for the ultimate outdoor dog activities for the summer, I think you definitely need this pet sprinkler plus the doggy swimming pool to create the perfect backyard play area for your dogs.

My parent’s dog Aiden loves playing with water in the air! We’ll grab the hose, spray it, and he goes nuts, which is why I knew I had to get this pet sprinkler. Plus, it’s shaped after his all-time favorite thing, the tennis ball!

This dog water sprinkler has two inflation areas, the blue ring and the tennis ball itself. It comes with the sprinkler head attachment that screws right on top of the tennis ball to create interactive water fun. It measures 28 inches wide, comes with stakes to secure it into the ground, and the hose connects right on the side.

This dog water sprinkler will go as slow or as fast as you want, it all comes down to how much water you have turned on. This pet sprinkler is such a fun thing to do with your dog in the summer and it’s another way to break up the heat and keep your dog cool.

BigMouth Elevated Dog Bed With Canopy

This last product from BigMouth’s pet line is the elevated dog bed with canopy. These make the best outdoor pet beds and can be used so many different ways such as:

  • Camping with your dogs
  • Giving your dog a place to dry off after bath time
  • Providing a shady spot for your dog to relax in the backyard

Since these outdoor dog beds come with a removable canopy, they’re super versatile for however you’d like to use them, including bringing them inside.

These outdoor pet beds are available in:

  • Two patterns:
    • Watermelon and mushroom (the mushroom reminds me of Super Mario, ha!)
  • Three sizes:
    • Small: 24″ X 30″ X 7″
    • Medium: 30″ X 36″ X 7″
    • Large: 36″ X 48″ X 9″ (featured below!)

Now the most important thing I want to add about these outdoor pet beds is that the assembly instructions are really not that helpful. Because of this, I created a full step-by-step guide to putting these outdoor pet beds together in my YouTube video below showcasing the entire collection!
