3 Easter Dog Treat Lick Mat Ideas Sparkles and Sunshine Blog

Easter Dog Treat 1: Chick Frozen Dog Lick Mat Idea

The first Easter dog treat dog lick mat idea is the Easter chick! For this recipe I’m using:

  • Lickimat Soother (my favorite for spreadable foods)
  • Piping Bag (for the yogurt, trust me, it makes a difference!)
  • Plain Greek Yogurt
  • Small Carrot Piece
  • 2 Blueberries

Here’s how to make this frozen yogurt, banana and blueberry Easter dog treat:

P.S. Want to know more things you can put on a dog lick mat? I’ve created 20+ easy-to-make dog lick mat recipes in my new What To Put On A Lick Mat: The Ultimate Dog Enrichment Cookbook (only $12.99)! This cookbook is a digital download so you can prop it up on your phone or iPad as you’re making tons of healthy dog lick mat ideas for your pup!

Step 1: Grab your Lickimat Soother and turn it sideways. Fill your piping bag with a few spoonfuls of plain Greek yogurt.

Step 2: Create the outline of your egg with the yogurt (it’s easiest to do this with the Lickimat Soother, and any Lickimat, sideways).

Step 3: In a bowl, mash your banana (you can use a fork, or I love to use a cocktail muddler in all of my recipes because it works super fast!). Grab your mashed banana and fill in the entire inside of your egg.

Step 4: Grab your piping bag with your plain Greek Yogurt and begin creating the “cracked egg shell” at the top and bottom. Fill in once you’re done.

P.S. If you want to do steps 1-3, let it freeze for an hour and then layer the yogurt on top you totally can! If you do, you’ll most likely need some dog safe peanut butter to stick the face on.

Step 5: Grab two blueberries and place them at the top to create the eyes. Cut off a small piece of carrot into a triangle and place below the eyes to create the nose.

Step 6: Freeze for 1-2 hours or overnight!

Easter Dog Treat 2: Easter Egg Dog Lick Mat Idea (version 1)

The second Easter dog treat lick mat idea is the classic Easter egg! By the way, the third Easter dog treat idea is also an Easter egg but in a different design. My goal was to show that you can create any fun and customizable Easter egg frozen dog lick mat idea with your dog’s favorite ingredients! You can have a blast making mine or your very own!

For this recipe I’m using:

Here’s how to make this frozen pumpkin, carrot, yogurt and blueberry Easter dog treat recipe:

Step 1: Turn your Lickimat TUFF Playdate sideways and fill your piping bag with plain Greek yogurt.

Step 2: Create the outline of your Easter egg with your plain Greek yogurt.

Step 3: In a blender combine a few spoonfuls of pure canned pumpkin, plain Greek yogurt, half of a chopped carrot and a few splashes of water. Blend. Fill the entire inside of your egg with your blended carrot, pumpkin and yogurt.

P.S. This mixture is actually from my Creamsicle Dog Popsicle Dog Treat Recipe! This is a great and healthy snack that works great in multiple popsicle molds.

Step 4: Using your piping bag again, create two curved lines towards the top and bottom of your Easter egg.

Step 5: Grab your blueberries and create three lines, making the remaining stripes on your Easter egg dog lick mat idea.

Step 6: Freeze for 1-2 hours or overnight!

Easter Dog Treat 3: Easter Egg Dog Lick Mat Idea (second version)

The third Easter dog lick mat treat idea is a second design for the Easter egg! For this frozen dog lick mat idea I’m using:

  • Lickimat Buddy (my favorite for thicker textures like peas and for creating more intricate designs)
  • Piping Bag
  • Mashed peas (Use frozen to avoid added salt content. I get the steamable bags)
  • Plain Greek Yogurt
  • Blueberries
  • Dog Safe Peanut Butter

Here’s how to make the last frozen blueberry, yogurt and mashed peas Easter dog treat idea:

Step 1: Turn your Lickimat Buddy sideways and fill your piping bag with a few spoonfuls of plain Greek yogurt.

Step 2: Create the outline of your Easter egg with your plain Greek yogurt.

Step 3: In a separate bowl, mash half of your cooked frozen mashed peas (you can use a fork, or I love to use a cocktail muddler in all of my recipes because it works super fast!). With a knife, fill in the entire inside of your egg with the mashed peas.

Step 4: Using your piping bag again, create two zigzag lines towards the top and bottom of your Easter egg.

Step 5: In between each of the zigzag yogurt lines, with your blueberries create a straight line across. Use dog safe peanut butter to stick the blueberries to the peas.

Step 6: Freeze for 2-3 hours or overnight.
