Dog and Owner Halloween Costume: Tony The Tiger

Diesel and I love Halloween! We’ve had some fun dressing up in creative dog and owner costumes over the past few years, but this year we wanted to incorporate his beautiful brindle dog coat into the costumes. Which is why this year, all of his dog costumes are Tiger themed! 

To kick things off, we are sharing this matching dog and owner costume idea: Tony the Tiger! This Halloween costume idea is easy, fun and only requires 3 items!

For the owner part of the costume, I found my adult tiger costume online at Amazon. The best part of it is that it’s a onesie! Talk. About. COMFY! My costumes this year definitely took a comfy trend. My Monkey and Banana Halloween Costume Idea with Annie also featured a onesie. I think the comfy work from home life got to me this year and I figured, why dress up to dress up? Ha!

The company that I got this tiger onesie from has discontinued this print, but I’ve linked many similar options here, here and here. 

Finding XL dog costumes or even XXL dog costumes for Diesel has always been challenging. I have found over the past four years that DIY dog costumes are usually the easiest for dogs over 50-60 pounds!

To create Diesel’s Tony the Tiger Dog Costume, all you need is a red bandana and a box of Frosted Flakes cereal! I found a red bandana for a couple dollars at Michael’s craft stores but you can find one at just about any other retailer like Walmart or Target. 

If you’re already a fan of Frosted Flakes cereal, you might have a box in your pantry! We had to buy a box and my boyfriend was so excited when he came home after my photoshoot to find a fresh box. 

As you can see below, Diesel was also thrilled that he got to take picture with cereal. He kept trying to open up the plastic inside to get to the cereal ha!
