Dog Lick Mat Idea: Halloween Night Sky
Hey dog parents! I have been in the ZONE making some fun and easy dog lick mat recipes! I’ve created my Lickimat soother recipe: Fall pumpkin dog treat and Lickimat Buddy Recipe: Halloween Frankenstein dog treat, and today I’m sharing my newest dog lick mat idea: Halloween Night Sky.
This Lickimat recipe actually has a funny story. Originally I wanted to make a big white ghost in the center of the Lickimat and then fill in around it with the night sky. Well, after two attempts, my ghost looked NOTHING like a ghost, ha! I even made my own stencil out of paper and tried to make an outline and it just got worse each time. It honestly looked like a big blob of white that was thrown onto the Lickimat during a food fight, ha!! Needless to say, I evolved the design to what you’re seeing today, which is honestly a lot easier, especially if you’re new to making Lickimat recipes!
In this post I’ll share how to make this super easy Halloween Lickimat Buddy recipe for your pups to enjoy!
Halloween Night Sky Dog Lick Mat Recipe Ingredients:
This frozen Lickimat recipe is probably one of Annie’s favorites since one of the ingredients is one of her favorite treats, blueberries! Below is the list of ingredients for this Lickmat Buddy recipe including the dog treats and Halloween silicone molds I used:
- 1-2 Tablespoons of Plain Greek Yogurt
- 1 Cup Blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- Bocce’s Bakery Biscuits Dog Treats (any flavor, for the B in Boo. I have the Monster Munch flavor I found at TJ Maxx)
- Fromm Dog Treats (any flavor, for the o’s in Boo. I have the Chicken with carrots & peas flavor)
- Halloween Silicone Mold
- Blender (I have this full Ninja Blender Set that I got for Christmas and LOVE it)
If you’ve never make yogurt dog treats or blueberry dog treats before, below are some quick facts about the health benefits of each for your dog!

Are Blueberries Safe For Dogs?
Are blueberries safe for dogs? Absolutely! Blueberries are a great low calorie snack that is high in fiber, Vitamin C and antioxidants!
Plus, what’s really cool about blueberries is that according to this article from AKC about blueberries for dogs, “adding antioxidants to a dog’s diet reduces the effects of brain aging, which is great if you have a senior dog”. I love to add blueberries on top of my dog’s food and in other healthy dog treat recipes!
Can Dogs Have Plain Greek Yogurt?
If you’ve ever wondered “Can dogs have plain Greek yogurt?” the answer is yes! This AKC article about yogurt for dogs shares that yogurt is high in calcium and protein and it can act as a probiotic!
Before giving your dog any yogurt, make sure it is plain and xylitol free. Greek style yogurt has the most active live cultures, and with the thicker texture, it can stick better to other ingredients in dog treat recipes and dogs love the texture!
How To Make Halloween Night Sky Dog Lick Mat Recipe:
Step 1: Grab your blender and add your blueberries and a quick spritz or two of water and blend.
Step 2: Pour your blueberries across your Lickimat Buddy lick mat for dogs and use a spoon or knife to spread it across the mat.
Pro Tip: This could get messy! Sometimes it splatters when you do this so don’t wear anything you don’t want food getting on.
Step 3: Place in the freezer for 1-2 hours (it’s easier to put the ghosts and bats on in the next steps if the mat is frozen. In the following photos I did it without freezing it to save time during my shoot!).
Step 4: Prep your yogurt ghosts and bats. Grab your ghost silicone mold and bat silicone mold from your Halloween silicone mold set and add yogurt until filled.
*These are super thin so it really doesn’t require that much yogurt!*
Step 5: Place in the freezer for 30-45 minutes with your blueberry covered Lickimat Buddy lickimat for dogs. Everything can be freezing together!
Step 6: Once frozen, place your yogurt bats and ghost dog treats on top of your blueberry night sky.
Step 7: Grab your Bocce’s Bakery biscuit dog treats and your Fromm Dog Treats and place them on your Lickimat Buddy.
Pro Tip: If you want, you can add a little dog safe peanut butter (xylitol free) and use that to stick it on!
Now that your night sky is complete, give to your pups and watch them enjoy this healthy Lickimat recipe!
Wasn’t this Halloween Lickimat recipe fun?! When I gave her the Lickimat Buddy, since it was frozen she was chomping away at it, which made me laugh. I was like, Annie you’re supposed to lick it, not chomp it, ha! As long as she’s happy, I’m happy!
