Improve Your Dog’s Dental Health With ProDen PlaqueOff® Powder

One topic that has always interested me is dog dental health and dog dental care. Having a good understanding of dog oral hygiene can result in healthy dog teeth and gums! I researched a ton of dog dental chews and other VOHC (Veterinary Oral Health Council) approved products for dogs when I discovered ProDen PlaqueOff Powder®.

100% Natural Ingredient

When I was doing my research on dog dental health products, one of the main things I was looking for was a natural product. I really didn’t want something that was made from a ton of chemicals if possible. When I saw that the ProDen PlaqueOff® Powder for dogs was made from 100% natural and organic kelp, I was very interested and excited!

The organic kelp ingredient, also known as the A.N. ProDen® was first discovered by Swedish dentist Dr. Sune Wikner. He discovered a connection with a specific kelp and improved oral hygiene with one of his patients, and the rest is history! The A.N. ProDen® ingredient is sustainably harvested off the Scandinavian coastline and it contains no additives!

How Does ProDen PlaqueOff Powder Work?

If you’re wondering, how does this VOHC approved product for dogs actually work? The natural kelp ingredient in the ProDen PlaqueOff® Powder for dogs works naturally with your dog’s body to help dissolve existing tartar while helping to prevent new build up in the process. The end result is your dog’s teeth looking whiter, cleaner and of course the cherry on top, fresh breath for your dog!

How Much Do I Use?

Besides the fact that this dog dental health product is incredibly helpful overall, my other favorite part about it is that you don’t use a lot, making this product last longer.

The kelp flakes are quite small and so is the scoop you use! I was actually so surprised when I saw how little the scoop is and the small amount I need for my dogs. The amount needed of the ProDen PlaqueOff® Powder is based on weight. Below is a quick breakdown:

  • Small dogs (up to 25lbs.): 1 scoop
  • Medium dogs: (25-50lbs.): 2 scoops
  • Large and giant dogs (50+ lbs.) 3 scoops

My dogs clearly fall into the largest weight bracket, ha! To use, all you have to do is sprinkle it on top of your dogs food. I personally like to mix it around in their food!

The ProDen PlaqueOff® Powder for dogs also comes in three sizes: 60g bottle, 180g and 420g. In these photos I’m using the 60g bottle and I would say it’s around the size of a Tylenol or Ibuprofen bottle. But again, even though my dogs are in the larger weight bracket, for just one dog, this 60g bottle lasts a few months! If you have a smaller or medium size dog, it lasts even longer!

2023/2024 Update: I’ve been using the 420g. ProDen PlaqueOff® Powder for dogs bottle and this size has lasted both of my dogs 5-6 months. It’s around $79.99 now which breaks down to $13-$16 per month which is a phenomenal deal compared to the cost of dog dental cleanings!

When Do I See Results?

The results from using the ProDen PlaqueOff® Powder for dogs are usually seen within 3-8 weeks of use and last as long as the product is being used! When I was initially reading reviews of this product, I saw many people say they saw results in just a week or two which was so exciting to see!

I think Diesel likes it, ha!
