3 Ingredient Dog Treat: Tropical Dog Popsicle Recipe
Are you in desperate need of a vacation but can’t really go anywhere right now? I’ve got you covered. I have created my most favorite dog popsicle recipe yet and this is one that you can enjoy with your pup!
I love making tasty smoothies for myself, which is what inspired this frozen dog treat for the summer! In this post, I’ll share how to make the tasty, tropical homemade dog popsicle featured below, as well as share links to my favorite dog popsicle recipes and frozen dog treat recipes!
Ready to learn how to make dog popsicles? To make this tropical dog popsicle recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients and tools:
Dog Popsicle Recipe Ingredients:
- Handful of strawberries
- 2-3 Fresh pineapple slices
- 1/2 cup to 1 cup chopped mango
- Popsicle silicone mold (I love this one because of the funnel it comes with and cleaning tool!)
- Plato Pet Treats Thinker Sticks (any flavor): used as popsicle stick
- Blender (I use my Ninja Bullet)

Are Strawberries Safe For Dogs?
Dogs can eat strawberries! Strawberries are actually full of fiber and Vitamin C. Plus, strawberries also have an enzyme that helps clean your dogs teeth as they eat them.
The only caution is since they do have sugar (like most fruits), you don’t want to give them too many!
Is Pineapple Good For Dogs?
Did you know that dogs eat pineapple? Not only is pineapple safe for dogs, but it’s also good for dogs! This sweet fruit is filled with vitamins, minerals and fiber. Plus, it contains bromelain, which is an enzyme that helps dogs absorb protein.
Note: Make sure the outside peel and crown are removed first. Only serve your dog the fruit on the inside!
Is Mango Safe For Dogs?
Can dogs eat mango? Yes! Mango contains many vitamins such as A, B6, C & E and they have potassium!
Note: Always remove the pit first since it contains cyanide which is not safe for dogs. Plus, since mangoes are high in sugar, only feed occasionally!
How To Make Tropical Dog Popsicle Recipe:
Now that we know more about these fruits that are safe for dogs, let’s learn how to make dog popsicles! Follow the 5 steps below to make this tasty frozen dog treat for summer:
Step 1: Grab your blender and add all of your fruit. Add a splash or two of water (this helps blend everything together!) and blend.
Step 2: Grab your silicone popsicle mold and funnel.
Pro Tip: If you’re using the one I shared in this post, the funnel it comes with is extremely helpful for dog popsicle recipes that have a thinner consistency like this one!
Step 3: Start pouring your dog popsicle filling into your silicone popsicle mold with your funnel until it is almost filled to the top. You don’t want it completely filled or it will pour over when you add your popsicle stick!
Step 4: Grab your Plato Pet Treats Thinker Stick (or any dog treat you want to use that is longer than the size of your popsicle mold), break it to a size that’s about an one to two inches longer than your popsicle mold and stick it in!
Pro Tip: Since this dog popsicle recipe is thinner and not thick like my peanut butter, yogurt & banana homemade dog popsicle recipe, your dog popsicle sticks have to be long enough to go past the mold or else they’ll sink in and you won’t have a stick. I did that the first time….ha!
Step 5: Freeze for 1-2 hours or overnight!
To enjoy this dog popsicle recipe with your dog, simply replace the dog treat as the popsicle stick and add a regular popsicle stick (they come with the silicone mold!). Trust me, you’re going to love it!
